As part of the government’s flagship School Rebuilding Programme, Carleton High School has proudly unveiled its brand-new, purpose-built teaching block – replacing some of the school’s previous teaching buildings. The new building offers modern facilities to support a high-quality education for current and future students. Students and staff will benefit from modern classrooms and science labs, creative technology spaces and high spec computing suites. Carleton High School Integrated Resource Provision – Consultation

Pontefract Academies Trust, with the support of the Trust Board, is proposing to establish a new Integrated Resource Provision at Carleton High School on a permanent basis from January 2026. The proposal to establish a new Integrated Resource Provision at Carleton High School is part of the Wakefield SEND Sufficiency Project and aligns with the Wakefield SEND Provision Strategy outlined in the Specialist Provision Priorities Action Plan. Stronger as One: 80+ staff members take part in Pontefract 10K

This weekend, more than 80 of our staff members took part in the Pontefract 10K, all in support of Oliver’s Army, a cause close to the hearts of our school community. Oliver, the son of one of our teachers, is currently facing a second battle with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. Carleton High School receives positive feedback in latest inspection

We are delighted to share the outcomes of the recent Ofsted inspection for Carleton High School, which took place in November 2024. Carleton High School was given the outcome of ‘good improving’. The ungraded (section 8) inspection suggests that the school’s work may have improved significantly across all areas since the previous inspection when it was rated ‘Good’ overall. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection. Carleton’s Candy Canes – Business Builder Challenge

In November, seven students from Carleton High School participated in a business pitch to raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice. The pitch was part of the Hospice’s Business Builder Challenge, and the students had to present their business idea to a panel of five local business experts, four members of the Prince of Wales Trust team, and two Carleton High School staff members.
