In an inspiring display of community spirit, Carleton in the Community students have raised funds to provide a life-saving defibrillator for Pontefract Town Centre. Carleton in the Community are a student-led group, passionate about supporting and giving back to our local community. Carleton High School receives positive feedback in latest inspection

We are delighted to share the outcomes of the recent Ofsted inspection for Carleton High School, which took place in November 2024. Carleton High School was given the outcome of ‘good improving’. The ungraded (section 8) inspection suggests that the school’s work may have improved significantly across all areas since the previous inspection when it was rated ‘Good’ overall. The school’s next inspection will be a graded inspection. Carleton’s Candy Canes – Business Builder Challenge

In November, seven students from Carleton High School participated in a business pitch to raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice. The pitch was part of the Hospice’s Business Builder Challenge, and the students had to present their business idea to a panel of five local business experts, four members of the Prince of Wales Trust team, and two Carleton High School staff members. Building the Future: Students ingrained in Carleton High School history

On Friday 11th October, students and staff at Carleton High School participated in a steel signing ceremony of the new 3-storey building. The ceremony featured a presentation which outlined the week-by-week construction plans for the building. Students and staff then joined a guided tour, during which they had the unique opportunity to sign their name on one of the steel beams – securing their place in Carleton High history. ‘Ground breaking’ ceremony at Carleton High School On Friday 3rd May, Carleton High School students and staff were accompanied by key stakeholders from Morgan Sindall and the Department for Education, to mark the official breaking of the ground at the new build site. Pontefract Academies Trust work boost children’s attendance and achievement through teacher performances.

May and June can be particularly stressful times in schools when children are preparing for exams. It as these times, more than any, that children may need an additional reason to love going to school.
