In November, seven students from Carleton High School participated in a business pitch to raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice. The pitch was part of the Hospice’s Business Builder Challenge, and the students had to present their business idea to a panel of five local business experts, four members of the Prince of Wales Trust team, and two Carleton High School staff members.
The students pitched the idea of selling Christmas Candy Cones and at the end of her pitch, Karen Horner from Handelsbanken, expressed her support and agreed to help bring the idea to life. Karen also offered to assist the students in reaching out to local businesses for sweet donations.
As part of their efforts, the students are preparing an assembly to raise awareness of the Prince of Wales Hospice and promote the sale of the Christmas Candy Cones. The Business Builder Challenge not only provides a valuable opportunity for the students to contribute to a worthy cause but also helps them to develop key entrepreneurial skills and hands-on experience.
Carleton High School and Pontefract Academies Trust are proud of the students’ dedication to raising funds for such an important cause and we look forward to seeing the success of their business
