We are proud to announce that we have won the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Pontefract Civic Society Design Awards 2025. This award recognises projects that demonstrate a strong focus on environmental impact, social responsibility and economic performance, with clear links to the wellbeing of people and the planet.
The award celebrates our new teaching block, which opened in September 2025, and marks a real milestone for our school and the wider community. It represents a meaningful investment in education and opportunity for the young people of Pontefract, now and for generations to come.
The new building was designed with learning at its heart, providing inspiring, modern spaces for students alongside high-quality facilities that support staff in delivering outstanding teaching. Sustainability has been a key focus throughout the project, ensuring the building supports a greener future while enhancing the learning environment.
We are delighted that Pontefract Civic Society has recognised the positive contribution this development brings, not just to our school but to the local community as a whole.
We would like to thank everyone involved in bringing this vision to life, particularly the Department for Education, Morgan Sindall and Sense of Space. We look forward to seeing the lasting impact this building will have for years to come.
